Cleveland Gaines, affectionately known as “Shorty,” was united in holy matrimony to Dorothy Watkins, lovingly called “Sis,” on August 7, 1960. From this sacred union, seven children were born, establishing the foundation of the Gaines family legacy.

Their children include three sons: Lee Dennis Gaines, Robert Gaines, and Stanley Gaines; and four daughters: Lorraine McClodden, Shelia Gaines, Linda Washington, and Wanda Gilmore.

Together, Shorty and Sis built a family grounded in faith, love, and perseverance. Their enduring commitment to one another and to their children continues to serve as the cornerstone of the Gaines family legacy, carried forward through generations.
